I’ve found that people who just want a code usually just ask for a ring, but then there’s lots of others asking for card details. Definitely best to not reply at all, it seems like a scam or theft attempt. Wouldn’t trust any of these calls.

Nah, this isn't some dodgy scam at all. It’s actually Vanquis using this number to confirm details when you log into their app or website. They’ll message you codes and stuff to check it’s really you. I saw someone say “I’m a scam caller and this is definitely a scam” but honestly, they’re wrong - I rang Vanquis myself to check. That said, remember phone numbers can be faked easily these days, so only trust it if you’re actually trying to log in or something.

I got six messages back to back from a number claiming to be Vanquis. Never heard of them before. Apparently they want me to give a code, but I know only scammers would do that. They said something like 94200961 is the registration code for the Vanquis app. If I’m not the right person, they said to call them. Feels dodgy to me.

I look after a blind lady and got a call from this dodgy character. Luckily I was there with her because he was about to get her to give away her security number. RIP-OFF - and I actually got caught out. I found out this number was messaging my teammates on WhatsApp pretending to be me. They even used my work profile pic and the names of my colleagues. Someone must have done their homework, knowing I manage a few people and started messaging them.
