Just got a message claiming to be from HALIFAX-SECURITY saying I’d set up a payment to some MR ADAMS. It said if I hadn’t made the payment, I should click a link to cancel it: [#]cancel-userpayee[###]. BE CAREFUL! THIS IS DEFINITELY A SCAM! Do NOT respond, just block the number and get rid of the message.

Just like others have said, it's really worrying, especially since I've never even had an account with them.

Junk mail alert. Got this text from Halifax claiming I'd linked up with some new account. Problem is, I never did! Blocked the number and flagged it as spam straight away. Then, about ten minutes later, got another one saying a new payee, some bloke named Mr K Khan, had been added to my Halifax account. Thing is, I don’t even have an account with Halifax! Feels like they’re piggybacking off the Halifax ads on telly about “checking on our customers” or whatever. Proper scammy if you ask me.
