Got a call from this number earlier today saying they were from some debt charity. Caller: Morning, can I speak to ##########? Me: Who’s this then? Caller: We’re from the debt foundation charity. Me: Right, so this is a scam, isn’t it? Caller: F### off. Me: Just so you know, I’m recording this. Caller: F### off and keep your recording. Then he just put the phone down.

I get round 8 calls every day from people claiming to be citizens advice, trying to help with my debts. They’re really rude too. I’ve blocked the number but they keep ringing back. So far, they’ve called me from like 5 different numbers.

This bloke called me, said his name was "James. uh. William" with a thick Asian accent. Claimed he was ringing from the Cotizens Advice Department, not Bureau though. He went on and on using loads of legal mumbo jumbo about some debt I supposedly owed. Told him I didn’t owe anything, said cheers for the call and just ended the call.

Received a call from an Asian lady saying she was from citizens advice. She kept telling me I owe money, but I’ve never had any debts before. When I asked if she was a scammer, she just said “No, I’m not a scammer”! I told her to “get lost”, and she replied with “You get lost, b****”! Not very polite for someone who says they’re legit. Definitely avoid this one.

I got a call from an Asian guy saying he was from some debt collection agency. When I asked him where he had my number, he said it came from my creditor. Then I asked which creditor, and he just snapped back saying it wasn’t my concern and I should just pay up. He started sounding quite pushy and said he’d send me an earnings attachment via email!

I got a call from someone claiming to be from the Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB), who started off by urgently asking if I was in debt to anyone. I clearly said "no," then asked where they’d got my name and phone number from. They tried to dodge the question and quickly became annoyed. When I pressed for answers and told them I hadn’t contacted them, I asked for their full name, employee ID, address, and how they’d obtained my info. The bloke got really defensive, rude, and frustrated, so I ended the call. Definitely not to be trusted. Avoid chatting with this person at all costs.

Just got a call from this number as well (07983771968). The bloke had a strange accent and claimed to be from some credit investigation agency. It was really unsettling, he kept saying he knew loads about me. I always make sure to report calls like these to Ofcom or similar bodies https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/ofcom If more people reported such scams, they’d get shut down quicker. Yeah, it takes a bit of time to report but it might protect someone elderly or vulnerable from being scammed out of their savings. Needless to say, I’ve blocked the number now.

didn’t pick up at first but if I get calls like this more than 4 times, next time I’ll answer in a bright voice, saying something like “ hello, you’ve connected to the South Yorkshire Police fraud department. all our lines are busy right now and an agent can’t come to the phone. your number has been noted, please ring again for help.” haha, it always cracks me up and seems to work every time!

Got a call from a guy who sounded Asian, and he was quite impolite. He began by saying he had details about a legal debt I supposedly owed that we needed to talk about. I told him he was mistaken, but before I could explain, he snapped harshly, asking why I was jumping to conclusions without hearing him out. I said it was because I've had loads of these calls lately, but I haven't had any accidents or taken out loans or anything. Then he just said alright, thanks, and hung up.

07983771968 - Some bloke with an Asian accent called me, claiming I owed money. I told him that was complete nonsense, and he snapped back saying it wasn’t rubbish, calling me names. I told him not to call again, and he swore at me, so I swore back. We went back and forth with insults until he finally hung up. If you get a call from this number, my advice is to warn them straight away that you’ll call the cops if they bother you again. Absolute wankers!

Got a call yesterday from someone saying they were from citizens advice, got a bit hostile when I told them it was shut. They rang again today saying I owed money, so I asked how many folks they'd tricked like this, then he just cut me off.

I didn’t quite catch the name but it was some debt company. They asked if I owed money and when I said no, they said that wasn’t the reason for their call. Then the guy got really rude, moaning about bad customer service and finally told me to f#### off!

Proper pushy one, tried telling me they were from citizens advice about my debts. I said I’d ring citizens advice myself, then the bloke goes “don’t try and fool me, I know you won’t call them.” I was like “how dare you talk to me like that?” and he just told me “you’re daft, you’ll never call and I hope your debts mess you up, you’re so stupid and clueless for ignoring me.” I just ended the call there - total scam!

Just got a call and chose not to pick up. After reading the reviews here, I’m glad I ignored it. Had another call a few days ago from a different number - didn’t answer that one either. Looked it up and saw similar comments about some scam pretending to be Asian citizens advice. From now on, I’m avoiding all calls from unfamiliar mobile numbers!
