The number was unfamiliar, so I didn’t pick up. It also seemed odd that they didn’t stay on the line any longer before disconnecting. Later on, I decided to look up the number on this site.

This is definitely a con. It has nothing to do with EE Ltd. When I picked up, an automated message came on saying something like “YouTube is giving away over £3000, just add us on WhatsApp to get it.” I didn’t add them on WhatsApp and honestly wouldn’t advise anyone to if you get a call like this. It’s just annoying spam. I’ve had a few calls like this over time. The weird bit? I was actually using YouTube when the call came through.
