For the past couple weeks, I’ve been getting a call from the same number once or twice every day. Honestly, it’s pretty dull now. So nowadays, I just pick up and don’t really respond. I’m guessing that wastes their credit somehow and also stops it showing up as a missed call, which is a bit less annoying. Might be time to get a phone that can actually block these unwanted numbers properly.

I got a call yesterday, and the person told me to hold on while they connected me through. I asked what this was about, and suddenly someone else answered, saying it was me who had called them. I told them I hadn’t and then ended the call, before blocking the number straight away.

They say it’s nothing serious but then push this idea that I gotta pay for an advert in their brochure so folks won’t think I’m dodgy. They harass me every single day! Is that even allowed? Feels a bit off to me.

Someone said they were from the Regional Crime Group after I put an ad in what I think is a fake booklet. I’m pretty sure a real organisation like that wouldn’t be ringing me from a mobile phone.

Just like others have said, this number rings me loads but then just cuts off. I’m curious if you ring them back, do you end up paying a fee? It’s happened to me a bunch of times now. They try to push some advertising deal, supposed to be about crime prevention or something. Could easily scare someone who’s not used to it. Best thing to do is ignore it and block the number straight away.

The person on the other end sounded really jittery, laughing nervously and talking way too fast. It immediately felt like a scam to me. They started asking loads of personal stuff about my business, which made me uneasy, especially since they already have my address :( It’s unsettling - maybe these calls aren’t just about getting your cash for advert stuff meant to prevent crime, but also to snoop on home business locations. Quite worrying, honestly.

The call rings and when I pick up, there’s nothing on the other end and then it just ends the call. Feels like they’re using some sort of auto system that keeps calling loads of people but only talks to whoever answers first.
