They were trying to verify info they probably took from another source. I reckon it’s dodgy and they wanna steal people’s identities. They called using a postcode I moved out of ages ago, like 3 or 4 years back. The person had an Indian accent and sounded like they were in a call centre - you could hear people chatting in the background. I ended the call as soon as I asked where they were based. Tried to ring back, but the number doesn’t work.

Whenever I get calls from numbers I dont know, I just stay silent. Most times, if they dont hear me say 'hello', they end the call straight away. I always check this site first then block the number. When GDPR kicks in properly, I'll be able to warn them its against the law!

Got a call from a lady with an Indian accent saying she was from Barclays. She asked if I’d ever taken a loan or mortgage there. I told her if she was legit, she’d already have that info. Then I asked what department she was from and for a number to ring back. She just dropped the call right after. Quite suspicious if you ask me.

Just caught on Twitter that TSecrime flagged this number as a Lloyds bank phishing scam. Better block it and let others know. They only need to trick one person for it to pay off.

Just got a call from a woman claiming to be from Barclays, asking me to verify my postcode. When I asked her to say who she was again, she just cut off. I don’t even have an account with Barclays! I’ve had loads of calls like this from loads of different numbers, all pretending to be from different banks asking for personal info. The real question is, how on earth have these muppets got hold of our numbers? Somewhere along the way, our details must have been leaked or hacked.
