They just cut off the call the moment the answering machine starts, total scammers.

Got a text saying it was from O2 about some unpaid bill, had a link to sort it out. Ignored it, then blocked the number straight away.

I got one of those scammers once and found a clever trick to handle them. Just let them go on and on, you don’t even have to respond. Eventually, when they figure out no one’s actually listening, they just end the call. Funny enough, they never rang me again after that. Makes you wonder what they’re really up to, doesn’t it?

Got a call saying I'd won £3,000 from a PPI claim but when I asked if it was real, the line just went dead on me.

I picked up and there was absolutely nobody on the line.

Some guy rang me claiming to be from Asda and wanted me to verify my name, plus my address and postcode. I told him I’d only give out that info if he explained why he was ringing. When I asked him again, he just cut me off. So, I messaged Asda’s customer care on Twitter, and they said it definitely wasn’t their call.

If you wanna report a scammer call, just text 'scam caller' to 7726, and the networks will look into it and block them. Same if it's a dodgy message, forward it to 7726, they’ll sort it out and block it for you.

Got a call from a guy speaking with an Indian accent claiming to be from British Gas. He sounded all chuffed and said he had some good news. Knew my name straight away and asked me to verify my address and postcode. When I hesitated and said "I think so" a couple of times about my details, he just ended the call. Definitely some dodgy phishing, since I don't even have gas at my place and never signed up with them.

They didn’t say what they were calling about, so I just ended the call. If it was really important, they’d have tried again, but nothing since. Pretty sure it was a scam, so I’ve blocked the number.

I got a call from someone saying they were with Aviva and had some good news for me. They actually knew my name, but got my postcode wrong. As soon as I pointed that out, they just hung up on me.

This bloke claimed he was ringing from the Daily Mail and said he had some “thrilling news” for me. He wouldn’t stop pestering me either. When I asked what the news actually was, he just kept dodging the question and tried to get me to confirm what my first initial was. Bit odd, right? What really freaked me out was that he already had loads of my personal details - my address, postcode, surname, and initial - way more than I’d want anyone to know.
