I only answered 'cause I thought it was one of my mates playing a joke, but then they started asking for my age, address and bank info! Turns out it was some odd people from abroad trying to nick my identity. Proper dodgy, that.

Just got a ring and picked up, the bloke said he was from some credit investigation thing. Told him to bugger off and hung up. Had a look at the comments here after and reckon it’s best to block the number - seems dodgy to me.

When this number showed up, I chose not to pick up, thinking real callers usually leave voicemails. After checking your brilliant site, I found out it’s just another scammer. I’ve blocked the number now and really hope these fraudsters get taken to court.

A bloke called claiming to be from Citizens Advice talking about some debts I supposedly owe. I told him to hold on a sec, then said I started recording the call. He hung up right away. Tried calling back, but the line just says the number’s no longer in service.

About five minutes back I got a call from this number. There was loads of noise in the background and the person claimed to be from the Citizens Advice Bureau. The accent sounded very foreign, so I didn’t trust it at all. I just ended the call and blocked the number straight away.

I picked up this number and some bloke started talking about an investigation or something. He tried making chit chat, asking how my day was. I wasn't having it though, so I told him to stop faffing about because I had no interest in whatever deal he was pushing. Then he told me to just hang up. What a knob!

I got a call from this number claiming they were from some credit investigation dept. They said they had details about my repayments to creditors. I asked them to provide a list of which creditors I’d paid and the amounts, then they just hung up on me straight away.

Honestly, there ought to be a rule against ringing people outta the blue like this. Loads of folks are just settling down to dinner. Leave us alone! These calls drive me mad. Got a call from someone saying they were from Lowell Financial, telling me the government had started some sort of debt assistance scheme. I rang Lowell directly while still on the phone to check, and they said they never use mobile numbers to contact customers. When I asked the caller for a reference number, the bloke got aggressive, threatening he knew my full address and would send someone round in 20 minutes. Then he called me an idiot and just hung up. Quite a scary and rude experience.

i picked up and they told me i'd got a £1000 loan okayed in my name. i told them i never did that and then they told me to call some sketchy long number with a ref number asap, saying someone else tried applying as me and it could harm my credit. i blocked the number straight away.

Looks like some kind of spam. I just stayed quiet the whole time since nobody talked or said anything. Whenever I get calls like this, I don’t say a word unless I actually hear someone speak and introduce themselves. Also, never give my name because that just proves it's the right person they're after.
