I picked up the phone and the call got cut off straight away, so I looked it up here to see what was going on.

I got a call on Friday afternoon, 18th August, but when I answered, there was nobody speaking at the other side. Later I realised that the number 07977130288 called me at 2:52 pm. Bit strange, really.

I got a call from someone claiming to be from BT Openreach, saying they were checking the broadband speed or something. The questions they asked didn’t really make sense and it felt a bit off. The person had an Indian accent and there was a lot of noise in the background, which made me think this was some dodgy scam. While they were talking, I quickly looked up the number and then blocked it straight away. Definitely not buying it!

Got a call from someone claiming to be with Barclays, asking my grandad for bank details. He’s got dementia and couldn’t remember where his cards were, so she told him to get his cheque books instead. Then she said they wanted to send him a present for his birthday. Most folks would spot that as suspicious, but with dementia, it’s pretty worrying.
