This is definitely a con. There’s no real Sarah behind the call. They probably picked that name because it’s common (most people know someone called Sarah). I bet they use other common female names too for this trick. Anyone buying the top up voucher is just giving their cash straight to the scammers.

Got a text from +44 7517 349485 saying “Hi, it’s Emma. Tried calling you but bad signal. I fell this morning and ended up in hospital. Could you please do me a small favour? x” When I asked which Emma, they immediately asked for a phone card! No thanks, total scam! Stay clear of this one.

07517 349485 rang one of my relatives pretending to be me, Emma! I’ve been feeling awful and slept all day, then woke up to loads of missed calls and messages from my family, checking if I was alright or in hospital. I kept telling them I was fine, but it was totally a scam! Such a nasty trick, really upsetting people and causing unnecessary worry.

Beware of 07517 360190! I got caught out by messages from someone called Sarah. I tried calling back but no reply, ended up panicking and buying a top up card. Unfortunately, the bank said they can't refund me. I feel proper daft, so please watch out! I’m sure most folks are smarter than me but just be careful! I’ve also reported it to action fraud and the police. Stay safe everyone!

Got a call from someone saying they were Sarah and had broken their fibula, asking me to ring back. Since my daughter’s called Sarah, I got a bit anxious at first. But then their messages started sounding dodgy, so I just told them off and blocked the number.

Caller said it was Sarah. Asked me for a favour, said she’d had an accident and broke her fibula, stuck in hospital. Asked me to text her back. I replied, “Hey, what happened?” since I thought it might be a mate on holiday or something. Then she messaged again, asking if I could help her out. About half an hour later another message came through: “Will you be able to do it?” That’s when it clicked it was a scam. Don’t let yourself get caught out by this sort of thing!

My 12 year old girl got the same message from 07762 434543, from someone called 'Sarah' saying she'd ended up in hospital with broken bones and all. My daughter freaked out a bit 'cos her dad's partner's called Sarah too. She wasn’t with me then, so she messaged back asking if 'Sarah' was alright, but thankfully didn’t carry on texting, and then she got in touch with me. She was really anxious all day till she got home from school and I saw the messages and realised it was a scam.

Got a call from +44 7762 434637, bloke kept going on about someone called Sarah with a busted elbow or something. He even dropped my name and weirdly used the first letter of a mate’s surname - ‘Sarah T’ or whatever. I was in such a rush to get to work, I didn't think twice and ended up losing £40. Proper mug moment, felt well daft after! :(

07971774042 rang me yesterday with the same scam. I spent over an hour and a half phoning hospitals, ambulance crews and the cops trying to track down which hospital my daughter was in. Ended up losing £40 on those voucher things. It felt real obvious cos my daughter’s name is Sarah too! Proper awful trick that one!

Got a message sayin Sarah's leg is snapped in two spots this time, proper medical terms too - tibia and fibula or summat. She’s askin for a favour but I don’t know any Sarah around here.
