Back in 2015, I had my first run-in with a scam and somehow Scotland Yard were involved. I keep my mobile number pretty private and only let close contacts have it. So when this unknown number rang me and didn’t bother leaving a voicemail, even though I’ve set up voicemail for anyone not in my contacts, I got suspicious straight away.
