Today I received a phone call claiming to be from BT’s tech team. The guy insisted my wifi had been compromised. I told him it sounded like a scam and he suddenly got quite rude, warning me my call was recorded and it’d be my fault if I ended up without internet. I quickly ended the call. Then, just a couple of hours later, that same number rang me again.

I got a call from a woman’s voice, all automated, saying it was OFCOM warning me that my internet was going to be cut off in a day because my line got hacked. The recording told me to press 1 for BT or 2 for other providers. Honestly, I just hung up straight away. I reported that number to OFCOM, and they confirmed it’s a scam, telling me to get in touch with Action Fraud as well. Definitely suspicious, so watch out!
