Just got a call from someone claiming to be Domestic Repairs, sounded like an Asian guy but used a different phone number from the one that called me yesterday. He was saying yet again that I’m owed a refund for some repairs they supposedly did. When I asked which repairs he was talking about, he mentioned either my fridge or washing machine. I told him that’s impossible cause I haven’t had any work done on either at all. Then I just hung up.

So this guy calls me up, says he’s Mark with this thick Indian-Pakistani accent. Starts off all cheerful like, "How are you today?" Then drops the line that he’s from Amazon membership services and my membership’s been cancelled. I wasn’t having any of it, gave him a sharp ‘no thanks’ and told him where to shove it. This number rang me up claiming there was someone hacking into my BT broadband. The guy tried to prove he was legit by giving me loads of details, but then wanted me to get on my PC to sort it out. He was really rushing me, and it just didn't feel right at all.

Got a call about a visa payment for the US. Seems like a total scam, so I just told them to stuff off. Then I hung up and blocked the number straight away.

Got a call on my home phone from some recorded message with a woman speaking in a thick Asian accent. Couldn't really make out what she was saying before it just ended suddenly after a few seconds.

Got a call with no voicemail left. I looked up the number here and saw loads of reports saying it's a scam. Decided to block it so I don’t get harassed again.

Some bloke rang saying he was from Microsoft, talking about my PC. I told him where to go and hung up straight away. Then he phoned me twice more on this same number, and once again on 01613940042. Proper annoying!

Got a call from some tech scam people, they asked if I was the primary user of my laptop. Sounded dodgy right away.

Got a call earlier from someone claiming to be Amazon, saying my subscription was about to expire. Honestly, it's laughable. The best defence against these dodgy calls is just to use your brain. If it sounds fishy, it probably is. I mean, subscriptions don’t just stop out of the blue - only you can cancel it. Whenever you get one of those automated messages, just hang up straight away. Don’t be daft and get caught out. Think about how unlikely their story really is.
