Got a call from some British automated voice claiming BT had spotted dodgy activity on my internet. Bit odd because I’m not even with BT. Anyway, I pressed 1 or 2 like they told me, then an Asian bloke came on the line. He honestly seemed clueless that there’s other internet companies besides BT in the UK. He kept insisting that all internet runs through BT, but I wasn’t having any of it.

It definitely felt dodgy. The call ended with a robotic voice just saying “goodbye.” I have no clue what their game was.

Got a call from a number I didn’t recognise. Was pretty sure it was a scam as they never bothered to leave a voicemail. It was an EE number, which is a bit odd. We’ve been trying to get our details taken off the BT phone book for ages, even though we’re ex-directory. Been dealing with this nonsense for over two years now. Annoyingly, these scammers seem to have our names already.

They never leave a voicemail, which is really annoying. Lately, I keep getting scam calls daily around the same time, but from different dodgy numbers. It’s definitely ramping up as Christmas gets closer. I just don’t pick up if I don’t recognise the number, so at least they don’t know if I’m actually answering or not.

I answered the phone but stayed silent and the call ended after about 3 seconds. Sounds like one of those automated robocalls - they hang up if nobody talks. When it’s a real person, they usually say something even if there’s silence at first. This number rings me multiple times a day, sometimes even all at once.

Phone rang and I could hear loads of noise like a busy call centre. The person said they were from my phone company but didn’t say which one. They told me I’d been overcharged by over £200 due to some problem and wanted to send me a refund. I said there’s no way you’re from my provider. He kept insisting he was and even used my name, which was creepy. I told him straight up he was a scammer and hung up on him.

I don’t usually leave a message, since I use a phone with call blocking. If the number isn’t saved in my contacts, the caller has to leave a message introducing themselves, otherwise my phone just won’t even ring.

They said they were calling from Microsoft and that there was some urgent issue with my PC. I just ended the call, but then they phoned me back, this time using a number that looked like a London landline (0208).

I got a call on my home phone from a recorded voice saying £900 had been taken from my Visa without my permission and I ought to contact Visa about it. They never asked me for any info though. I rang my bank and they told me there was no such transaction and assured me it was just a scam.

Got a call on my mobile with rubbish signal, and it turned out to be from a call centre halfway across the world. They wanted me to scan something so they could "help" me by accessing my computer - felt like a classic scam to charge me for nothing. Definitely a dodgy number!

This morning around 10:15, I got a ring from this number but decided not to pick up because it felt off. Later, I looked it up on ‘Who Called Me’ and found out it’s listed as a scam number.

I just got a call from 0797484845834 with a robotic voice saying there was an issue with my Amazon account, asking me to press 1 or 2. Thing is, I don’t even have an Amazon account! This makes it the second time this scammer has tried to bother me. I just ended the call straight away.

Got a call earlier today from a lady with an Asian accent claiming to be from Microsoft. I cut her off right away saying, "No way, I’m not falling for any scams today, cheers," and ended the call. Moments later, she rang back asking why I’d hung up. I told her she should be embarrassed for trying to trick people and hung up once more. Then she called again, insisting she was legit from Microsoft. I warned her that if she bothered me again, I’d have to report her to the cops for harassment.

Got a call from someone sounding like they were in a call centre, probably in India. They claimed to be from BT, but I hung up straight away so didn't really hear much. This is the second time they've rung me, and it's really starting to get on my nerves.

Pretty sure this was the exact caller from yesterday just using a new number. They said they were with Virgin Media, talking about my broadband. The day before, they mentioned some weird activity on my internet and kept pushing me to download something on my phone. I played along until I got fed up, but today I didn’t even bother and just ended the call. Best not to get involved, it’s definitely a scam trying to sneak into your device or network.

Got a call today from an automated voice saying there was a £900 purchase on our Visa card. They told me to press 1 if I didn’t make the charge. I just didn’t respond and they ended the call. They never said which company they were with, so it’s obviously a scam. I’m gonna block the number and report it to 7726. Honestly, why don’t the phone companies do more to block these nuisance calls? If they were held responsible, maybe they’d take it seriously.
