Some bloke calling himself from Amazon said I’d bought an iPhone, but it was obvious a fake. When I confronted him, he just admitted straight away it was a scam, then started blaming folks like me for not handing over cash and forcing him into this. Watch out for these dodgy calls!

Got a call from this number earlier, it was one of those automated messages saying my Amazon Prime subscription had expired and I was supposedly charged £99. It asked me to press 2 to talk to customer support - yeah, right. I just hung up and decided to call the number back. Turns out it’s a mobile phone linked to EE, but when I rang, all I got was a voicemail saying no one was available and if I wanted to leave a message. Didn’t bother leaving one. Pretty sure I had the same scam about a year ago as well.

This morning, I received a rather suspicious call featuring a pre-recorded message claiming there was a £900.00 transaction attempt linked to my VISA card. Got a call with some robot woman saying I'd bought £1000 worth of wine on Amazon... totally not possible since I don't even drink!

This was definitely a scam call. A robotic American woman claimed to be from some kind of Security Fraud team (I think based in the US). She told me that £1000 had been taken from my Amazon Visa card. There were three choices to press, and the last one was "press 3 to hear these options once more". Honestly, it seemed risky and like a trick to steal money. Best thing to do is just end the call and report it asap.

Just got a call about getting a refund on my phone bill for more than £200, which sounded a bit too good to be true. When they asked for my date of birth, I said no way, especially since the account isn’t even under my name. Then I hung up. What was weird though, is they kept calling me by my first name, which I didn’t expect at all! Felt a bit dodgy to me.

So this number called me earlier and I decided to just say hello instead of my usual routine. It made no difference though - the person just hung up without saying a word. By the way, I’m a guy. Funny how they call but don’t even speak!

Got a call from a lady with an American accent, sounded like a robot message or something. She said she was from Visa’s fraud team and mentioned weird charges to Amazon - one for £300, another for £1000. Then she told me to press 1 if I wanted to talk to their fraud department. Definitely felt a bit dodgy.

Someone called me claiming they were from Virgin Media but it definitely felt like a scam. They wanted my details but I didn’t give anything away. Pretty sure they were just pretending. Be careful if you get calls like that!

Spam calls are driving me crazy lately, they seem to be happening way too much. I always let unknown numbers go straight to voicemail and then look them up to see if others have flagged them before. Honestly, what's the use of the TPS when it doesn't seem to stop these annoying calls? I’ve got a limit on how many numbers I can block each month, so I’m always having to remove older blocks to add new offenders to my blacklist. It’s a right hassle!

I got a call from someone claiming to be from Amazon, telling me to check my Visa card because there were some charges on my account. Turns out, it was a total scam, so watch out for this kind of thing!

This number buzzed me at 8:11 in the morning and I was a bit suspicious straight away. I just let it keep ringing for a bit. When I finally answered, I kept quiet and didn’t say a word. Moments later, the call just dropped, which told me it was one of those annoying cold calls.

Got a call saying I was owed some money back on my landline bill. When I asked which provider they were from, the bloke said BT. I told him it was rubbish and I’m with a different phone firm, then I told him to get lost. After that, he just hung up on me.

Someone rang me claiming to be from Virgin Media, saying there was an issue with my computer they were sorting out. It sounded pretty legit since there was an actual problem, though it wasn’t them who fixed it in the end. They asked for loads of personal info, but I dropped the call when they wanted details I couldn’t provide. Watch out for that AnyDesk software, it seems dodgy.

Had my answerphone on but no message left. Looked up the number and ended up here to see who it could be. Kinda makes me think it might be linked to another call I got from 01608 641925 earlier, where someone mentioned I’d transferred a big sum of money and said they were from the bank. The person who picked up here just hung up halfway through the chat, so I’m not too sure what to make of it.

I got a voicemail saying they wanted to check some recent purchases on "my card" - they mentioned an Amazon card and a big transfer that apparently didn't match my regular spending. They told me to “press 1” or something like that to talk to their “support team.” Sounds like the usual scam trying to trick people into giving info.

I got a call the other day from someone saying they were from Microsoft. I told them that was odd since I actually work at Microsoft's Reading office. They then asked which site, saying there’s three offices! I told them straight up it was a scam because Microsoft doesn’t ring people at home. They kept pushing though. I used to work in IT security at IBM and did some Windows testing with Microsoft as a partner. These dodgy calls come through a few times a day from random numbers. Best thing is just to ignore them - Microsoft won’t call you out of the blue.
