Got a call on our 0801 number from someone saying my internet was involved in some illegal activity and that it would be cut off. They told me to press 1 or 2 to get more details. Got a call with a really clear recorded voice saying there was some fraud of £900 on my card, but they never said which bank. It sounded all official and told me to press 1, but I just ignored it. Definitely a scam trying to catch people out.

Somebody rang saying they were from Microsoft, said my computer was involved in some kind of fraud... They warned they’d shut down the PC if I hung up the phone... it felt really threatening.

Got a call from this number today, it was one of those recorded messages saying that someone was trying to charge £900 on my Visa card and to press 1 if I wanted to approve it. I didn’t bother hanging up straight away because, obviously, it was a scam. It came through on my home phone.

Just got a call on my home phone around 11:45 from a woman claiming to work for Openreach about my broadband. As soon as I told her I didn’t believe she was really from Openreach, she hung up straight away. Felt pretty dodgy to me.

Got a recorded voice on the line about some subscription help, sounded automated and kinda frustrating to listen to. Thought it was a real person at first but guess not. Just kept repeating stuff about account details and offers, not really helpful at all.

I got a call from a recorded message talking about my debit card. It sounded like one of those automatic calls, you know, quite annoying. I'm pretty sure it's some kind of scam or promo, 'cause they wouldn't just ring me up without asking first. Definitely didn't trust it.

Got a suspicious call from someone pretending to be Amazon. It was a woman’s voice, sounded like a recording, saying my account had been charged some amount because it supposedly expired. They wanted me to get in touch with them right away! Definitely felt like a scam.

On 29th November 2023, I got a call from a woman with a pretty strong Indian or South Asian accent, saying she was from Amazon. She told me there was an order for a phone placed last night and asked if I wanted to cancel it. The phone she mentioned was the exact model she was calling from! She then tried to get my Amazon account details. Definitely seemed dodgy to me.

I got a call from a guy with an Indian accent who claimed to be from Virgin Media, telling me my internet was slow. When I joked and asked if it was crawling like a snail or a tortoise, he just cut the call straight away. Total scam!
