I got a call from this number earlier today claiming that there was £900 pending on my Visa due to some online purchase. They urged me to hit '1' if I recognised it as a legitimate transaction, or something to that effect. It was all automated, and there was no way to go back and clarify anything. I wasn’t really ready for it, having been waiting for a different call, so I answered thinking it was the one I had been anticipating. Quite the shock, really!

I got a woman with an Asian accent saying she was from Virgin Media telling me my internet had issues, but there wasn't any problem at all. SCAM ALERT: This is one of those VISA cons, where they claim someone just took £900 (or some other amount) from your bank. They push you through some spiel about using online banking, finding your closest bank and all that. Got an automated call saying £900 taken from my Visa card, asking me to press 1 if it wasnt me. Best advice - dont hit 1, just hang up straight away.

Got a call claiming I'd made two big withdrawals - one supposedly in Vegas and another from Amazon, adding up to over £2000! Don't these fraudsters know banks send you alerts for any dodgy spending, especially from places you haven't been? Plus, all from a mobile number? Totally scammers for sure.
