I got a call from someone claiming to be Sean, sounded like he had an Asian accent, saying something about UK benefits. When I asked him to take my number off their list, he just cut the call straight away.

There was a company calling about UK benefits life insurance. I nicely told them I'd already asked to be taken off their calling list, but the guy just got all rude and said they "aren't allowed" to do that. Feels like straight up harassment to me.

The guy couldn’t even say my name right, so I told him it wasn’t me. Then he asked what my name was, and I told him he should already know since he was the one calling me. He said he “just wanted to have a quick chat”. I told him I was busy and ended the call. Blocked straight away.

Got a call from some muppet asking for someone else, so I asked who he thought he was. Instead of answering, he started messing about. Told him to jog on and blocked his number straight away! What cheeky little gits.

Got a call from some bloke named Max, sounded Asian, wanting to do a personal insurance review or summat. He started dropping the FCA name to sound legit. I played along, asked a few questions to string him along, just for the laughs. Then he got a bit nasty, started calling me daft - bit cheeky, that! I was well amused messing with him, but then had to tell him to jog on. Wouldn’t mind having another crack at winding him up though - reckon that annoys them way more than swearing!

I’ve got the real number here, but I think my phone’s got some sort of virus because it’s been calling loads of numbers on its own. Really sorry to anyone who’s been bothered by this!

just hang up don’t waste time. guy called me claiming to be from some credit check dept. i made him say his name twice and as soon as he started his spiel again, i ended the call. saved his number and saw he’s not a big firm, just a bloke with a whatsapp profile. checked the warnings people posted about him here and he seems to keep trying. best to steer clear and not answer at all.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from a debt help firm, even mentioned stuff from a debt resolution forum. When I started asking more questions, they just ended the call. Definitely a scam.

sounds like a scam to me, but really irritating regardless. someone called pretending to be from the fca about insurance, trying to get info on my life cover. i told them my insurance was fine and i didn’t want to discuss it, then the caller turned rude, questioning if i was sure i had a good deal. proper uncalled for, so i ended the call and blocked the number. annoyingly, this is the fourth time this week i’ve had calls from what sounds like the same call centre in india about this exact thing. even after blocking all the numbers, they just keep ringing.

This is the 4th time this week my phone’s buzzed from a mobile, always at like 9:30 in the morning on a Wednesday, just to ring once and then cut off. I never pick up numbers I don’t know. If they’re selling something, which I bet they are, just steer clear. Totally dodge these calls!

I couldn’t catch the name of the company, so I just told them I had no idea who they were and ended the call. If it was something important, they’d probably leave a voicemail or send something in the post, right? These days I don’t bother talking to strangers on the phone at all.

Got a call from someone claiming I should get compensation. I kept asking why and what for, and when he tried to find out if I’d already gotten any, I said it was private and he had no business asking. Then he just ended the call. I’ve blocked the number since.

I usually just ignore calls from numbers I don’t recognise. This one popped up with the name Jonathan Lubin, but I’ve never heard of anyone with that name. No voicemail or anything was left, so I’m guessing it was some kind of marketing or scam call.
