On the 17th of Feb, I got a call from someone who sounded like they were from India. They said they were from BT and needed to fix my internet speed because there was apparently an issue. They followed up with an email that had the BT logo on it, making it look real. I checked my speed on a normal website, but then they asked me to download an app so they could access my device remotely. When I looked up the app, loads of people had left reviews calling it a scam, so I refused to download it. When I mentioned that to the guy on the phone, he just hung up straight away.
