Got a call earlier that sounded like one of those HMRC scams, with the automated message threatening arrest if I didn’t follow their demands. It ended after about a minute. Out of curiosity, I tried calling the number back. Turns out it’s a genuine work mobile belonging to someone unrelated to HMRC or any scammers. Looks like the crooks were faking the number of an innocent UK resident. Really feel sorry for whoever actually owns that phone. If you ever get a robo-call claiming to be HMRC, watch out - it’s probably nonsense.
