Got a call from a woman with a really official-sounding British accent, saying she was with some HMG investigation team looking into fraud because apparently my national insurance number has been compromised. She tried to frighten me with threats about legal action if I didn't respond. It immediately seemed dodgy since why on earth would HMG ring from a mobile? Didn’t bother calling back. Felt a bit uneasy as I’ve just lost a close family member and been emailing various government departments and banks with my national insurance details recently.
