I missed the call earlier and when I tried to ring back on my mobile it kept saying the number isn’t recognised. But if I call from my landline, it just rings twice and then cuts off. Weird.

They phoned me two times but when I tried calling back, a message came up saying the number doesn’t exist.

He told me he was John Matthews from the Office of Fair Trading regarding unsecured debts. When I said I wasn’t able to talk and asked him to send details by email, he said he wasn’t able to and wouldn’t give me a callback number. When I questioned him about the organisation since the Office of Fair Trading doesn’t exist anymore, he just hung up. Total scam, don’t bother with it.

Just got a call from a woman claiming to be from Citizens Advice, but it didn’t sound right. Why would they use a mobile number anyway? And why bother ringing me out of the blue? It’s baffling what they even hope to achieve by cold calling and then hanging up like that, rude behaviour.

Got a call on my mobile from someone with an Asian accent claiming he was from Citizens Advice Bureau, saying I owed a debt and could lower my repayments. I told him I suspected a scam, but he insisted it wasn’t. I told him I wasn't interested and to stop calling. Then I blocked the number.

I got a call from this number and decided to pick up since they've rung a few times before and since it’s a mobile, I thought it might be somethin urgent. It was an American guy who asked for me by name. I said it was me and he just said “Hi, how are you?” I told him I’m off sick right now and he just cut the call right away. Proper rude!
