Got a phone ring at 1.36pm today, and as soon as I answered, I heard a click and then some robotic message saying there was strange activity on my Amazon account. They claimed someone had spent £199 on my card. I didn’t bother staying on the line for anything else. Not once did they ask for my name or to confirm anything. I just ended the call and logged into my Amazon account straight away. Of course, no unusual transactions showed up at all.
