This morning I got a call from 07970 998346. I usually don’t pick up unknown numbers, so I let it ring go to voicemail. When I checked, there was no message left, just silence. It’s such a pointless thing to do - why bother leaving an empty message? Feels like a total waste of time really.

So, yesterday morning (Wednesday, 08.07.20), I got a call from this number. After a few seconds, a bloke said his name was James Reed and claimed he worked at Gladstone Brooks Ltd. He told me I’d won a PPI claim and wanted to share a reference number with me. But when I asked how he got my info and what exactly his service was, he just hung up on me.

Following up on my earlier comment about someone named James Reed, I did a bit of digging on Gladstone Brookes Ltd online. Turns out, they’re a legitimate firm offering legal services and do handle PPIs. However, when I rang them up, they told me they don’t have any employee called James Reed, and they definitely wouldn’t be calling people on their mobiles.

I picked up the phone but nobody said a word before they just dropped the call.

I picked up when 07970635419 called but they just ended the call straight away. I messaged asking who it was but never got an answer back. Seems dodgy to me, so I’m planning to block it. Definitely don’t trust this number.

the background noise said they were from some national survey, but I wouldnt trust that at all. seemed fishy to me.

Picked up but no one on the line, dunno why they even bother calling if they’re not gonna say anything. Just blocked them instead.
