I flagged this as suspicious since the guy claimed he was from O2 and said because O2 and Virgin were merging, they were upgrading sim cards for free. I got wary when he started asking me personal stuff to "verify my account," even though he’d already called me before! At first he came across alright, but then I wondered, why would an O2 rep be calling from an EE number? It was so obviously dodgy. It felt pretty dangerous because he sounded convincing, saying it wouldn’t cost anything and he wasn’t after my card details, yet he still wanted info I’m pretty sure they’d already have.
