I got a WhatsApp message with a big thumbs up emoji then it said something like, “Hey, sorry I accidentally sent you a 6 digit code via SMS, can you send it back to me? It’s really urgent 🥰😘🥰😘📸📸.” I also received a text that looked like it came from WhatsApp with a PIN code but I just deleted it, although that one did seem legit from WhatsApp.

Tried calling them back but no response. Left a message and the voice was clearly speaking Chinese. As someone who studies languages, it was pretty obvious this was a dodgy call. Not sure what the intention was, but I reckon it might be yet another COVID-related scam.

Someone claimed they were with Aviva, and when I told them I wasn’t interested and was busy at work, they started being really rude, then hung up and blocked me. Not long after, I got a call from an 01246 number which I just ignored and blocked straightaway.

Legal and General called me earlier and when I mentioned I'd already been scammed by someone pretending to be them, the bloke told me to f### off and called me a fat w####r. Lovely! Listen mate, if you see this, I’ve got a proper job, no mortgage hanging over me, three cars on the driveway and our last holiday was Singapore. That’s what happens when you work your arse off and keep up with your bills and taxes. Just a thought! :)

Some bloke called claiming he was from Aviva, but I wasn’t convinced, so I told him to take me off his list. Then he started calling me “my love” and said he wouldn’t remove me because of that. The convo quickly turned really inappropriate. I was trying to keep him on the line to get a recording for the police, but it got way too explicit, so I had to end the call.

Someone rang saying they were from Aviva, wanting to "go over my life insurance policy" with them. If I've got a bit of time, I let them keep going since it eats up their time and cash, and at least they’re not bothering some other poor soul. I played along, answered all their questions about my supposed "Aviva policy." After about 5 minutes, I told them I never had any policy with Aviva. They just hung up straight away.

I blocked them after just one ring, told them to stop phoning me, and the bloke on the other end just said "No" and told me "We’ll keep calling you, you daft old sod"! Proper cheeky, that! They claim to be from Aviva but don’t use a standard call centre number - instead they ring from a mobile, probably 'cause folks are more likely to pick up than from a dodgy 0800 line! I’m fairly young and fit, but honestly, with how pushy they are, I reckon they could give someone a heart attack!
