They use mobile numbers to trick you into answering and then feed you fake info. I don’t ever respond, just look it up and then block the caller. If it’s someone I know but calling from a different number, they’ll usually text or call from a landline. Never return the call, some of these numbers can cost you big time - better to just block them.

When I picked up the phone, the person on the other end claimed to be from the Citizens Advice Bureau, stating they had details regarding some outstanding debts. They then inquired if I was indeed the right person to discuss this with. I assured them that I had no debts whatsoever, and just like that, they abruptly ended the call. I'm quite worried about this situation, as the CAB is a reputable organisation. I'm left wondering how to go about reporting this phone number.

Got a call from 07967 359862 today. An Asian woman was on the other end, but I struggled to catch what she was saying - something about debts that I definitely don’t owe. Then she threw in my married name, which I stopped using over two years ago, and an old address I haven’t lived at for the same length of time. I told her to take my details off whatever list she’s got me on, and she just hung up straight away.

EXTREMELY RISKY - Got a call from an Indian call centre pretending to be from the government, trying to push an IVA on me and said I had debts. The moment they said that, I told them to remove my number. But honestly, anyone less aware could easily be tricked. NEVER share your details with these lot.

Got a call from someone claiming to be the "credit department" saying they had info about my unpaid debt. When I asked them to specify which debt, they couldn’t give me an answer.

I did manage to answer once and the person was quite polite, telling me they had some legal info about debts I supposedly owe. Every time I ask them what debts they mean, they just hang up on me. The third time they called, the bloke asked if what he said was right and what debts exactly. If you’ve got legit legal info on me, surely you’d already know that!

Got a call from an Asian guy claiming he was with the "Credit Department". Said he got my details from a "Debt Reference agency" and started using my maiden name. Told him to bugger off and ended the call. Then I blocked the number straight away.

I told him to take me off it, he asked if I knew why he was calling, I said yes. Then he asked if I still wanted my number removed, I said yes and then he told me to f### off. Proper rude!

Said he was from the "Investigations Department" at the FCA, but when I asked for details about the FCA, he just said it's some government agency. He said he had my debt records and was there to give me some advice. Got really annoyed when I said I didn't buy it and told me I was just wasting his time!

This morning, around 9:20, I received a phone call from this number. I chose not to pick up as I didn’t recognise the number or the person behind it. True Caller claims it’s associated with someone named “Tony Dean,” but other than that, it’s registered as an EE line. They didn’t leave any voicemail, which only reinforces my suspicion that it’s yet another telemarketer. Definitely didn’t feel the need to engage with them!

Got a call from someone saying they were from the financial conduct authority, so i asked them which company they represented. He just kept saying "department financial conduct authority” over and over. Then he started going on about unpaid unsecured debts, which is rubbish 'cause i haven't had any in like 15 years, all my debts are secured anyway. He kept insisting i owed unsecured debt, so i swore a bit and asked him how he could prove he was genuine. After a long sigh, he just hung up on me.

The woman said she was from the 'credit investigation department' but didn’t say which company, and when I asked where she got my number, she just hung up.
