BE WARNED ABOUT THIS CALLER! They had me on the phone for like an hour, knowing my full name, address, email, account number, and both my home and mobile numbers. They even texted me from what looked like -BT-. They managed to get control of my laptop and made an £800 purchase on my eBay account. I almost logged into my bank, which would have given them access to my money, but thankfully I stopped myself just in time. It was really slick and believable. At one point my screen went black, and I didn’t realise they were remotely controlling it. Proper scary stuff!

A guy with an Asian accent rang me up about some Microsoft account issue. When I questioned where he’d found my info, he turned nasty, started shouting, even said he’d put porn on my accounts and claimed he knew my address. I didn’t take it lightly and have reported it straight to the police. Honestly, these scammers should be stopped for good!

I got a call supposedly from BT regarding my internet service. When I mentioned I wasn’t with BT, the caller insisted that even if I’m with Virgin or TalkTalk, the broadband still goes through BT. I explained that it’s actually BT Openreach handling the infrastructure, not BT itself. I also said I thought the call seemed dodgy, and then he started yelling at me, so I just ended the call.

I received yet another dodgy call pretending to be from BT. Just to clarify, BT never contacts you from a mobile number. The crafty individuals can manipulate the caller ID to make it seem like the call is genuinely from BT, but don’t be fooled! I answered a call in broken English claiming I was owed a £202 refund on my BT bill. My advice? Try to catch these con artists off guard. I asked them for details about my last payment, and without missing a beat, they hung up. Stay vigilant, everyone!

I received a call from a lady with a rather exotic accent, claiming to be from BT Openreach, though she quickly switched her tune to say she represented British Telecom. She insisted on discussing my internet service, but as I asked her to wait a moment so I could see who was at my door, she vanished from the line. Interestingly, just earlier I had a bloke ring me from 07956576647 who beat a hasty retreat the moment he sensed my scepticism. Quite the coincidence, isn’t it?

I received a voice message from a rather articulate lady using this mobile number. She stated she was with BT and that my service was about to be halted. She then prompted me to press 1 if I wanted to speak with customer support. Definitely sounds like a scam to me, and quite a crafty one at that! Stay vigilant, everyone!

Finally they updated the mumble phone refund thing, but I couldn't really get what he was saying. When he asked for my address I wondered if it was to send a cheque, but he said no, so why would he want that info? Then he just ended the call. Smells like a phishing scam to me.

Got a call from a lady with an Indian accent claiming to be from BT. She asked if I’d noticed my internet was slow. I said nope, and she offered to fix it. I told her to wait a sec, but really, I was checking my WiFi speed on my iPad - everything was fine. After I said that, she just dropped the call! Shame, was kinda hoping to mess with her a bit.

Kept ringing me up claiming they were from the main BT firm, offering to sort out my slow Wi-Fi speeds. I told them BT isn’t the same as my internet provider, but they kept insisting I should log into a site they gave me so they could 'fix' it. They got really pushy when I refused, and I told them it sounded like a scam to get into my computer. They ended up swearing and just hung up. I've blocked the number now. Just another con artist trying to fool people.
