When they figured out I was onto them, the person pretending to be from Auto Trader got really rude. Definitely a scam trying to get a refund out of me.

I got a call from someone pretending to be Auto Trader, but when I told them I knew it was a scam, they started being really rude and abusive. Total scammers.

Got a call claiming to be from Autotrader saying I’d been billed twice for my car ad and that they wanted to give me half the money back. They wanted my full address plus all my card info, like the expiry date and CVC. Since I work in finance, I knew that’s not how refunds work. I told them I’d rather get an email and call back rather than give details on the spot. They didn’t take it well at all, got really rude and hung up on me, yelling “F*** off” before ending the call.
