Got a call supposedly from HMRC warning me about jail time over unpaid taxes, but it was clear a scam right away. The person spoke in a weird American accent and kept using weird phrases you’d never hear from official UK folks. When I pressed 2 to talk to someone, all I got was a noisy line and a lady who definitely wasn’t from the UK pretending to be from HMRC. It’d be quite funny if these calls weren’t so annoying and clearly a trick to scam people. Planning to report the number for sure.
