Just got a message said it's from elr? claiming i've won some big prize? i never enter any contests or lotteries so this feels totally fake. definitely a scam, don't fall for it. unbelievable how they try to trick people like this.

I gave the number a ring, turned out to be some betting place. They asked if I’d put money on a horse, so I just said “no” and ended the call. Seems like a firm has shared phone numbers around.

had a call like this a bit earlier today. the sender showed as elr on the text before i even opened it. ive never been lucky enough to win big with any texts or emails before, and honestly i reckon most of them are dodgy anyway. be careful not to click on any messages from strangers claiming you’ve bagged a prize. if you did win something legit, it’s usually because you took part in a contest or bought a ticket, and they’d tell you properly, often by letter. dont get caught out by these scams!

Never heard of this number before, yet I got a text saying “ring me straight away to claim your big prize for today, no cost involved, call 07958 220508 now”. Didn’t even think about calling back since mobile calls ain’t free unless you’ve sorted it with your network provider first.
