I rang to check if it was a scam, and when I asked them directly, they just went silent and then ended the call.

Got a call from 07958191066, some Asian bloke saying he was from BT about my internet speed problems. I asked him for details about my BT account but told him I’m not even a BT customer. He started stammering and sounded like he was just reading from a script. I called him out for being a scammer and then he just ended the call. Number’s already blocked from my phone.

I received a call from 07958191066, an Asian bloke who said he was from BT, talking about some supposed problems with my internet speed. When I pressed him for details about my account, I pointed out that I don't even use BT and he went all wobbly, sticking rigidly to his script. I told him straight that he was nothing more than a scammer, and he promptly hung up on me! I've made sure to block that number now.
