Received a rather dodgy call purportedly from Amazon the other day. The person on the line had a strange mix of Indian and American accents-definitely trying a bit too hard to sound like a local! They claimed there was some fraud happening with my account as someone in California had allegedly attempted to purchase an iPhone 11 for a whopping £700. To add to the charade, they even sent me an email from what looked like Amazon and later texted me a one-time passcode. Everything seemed quite authentic, but thankfully, I had the sense to follow Amazon's guidance and ended the call promptly. Be wary, folks!

Got a call from a woman sounding Indian-American who was really worked up, saying she was with Amazon fraud team. She claimed someone in California was trying to buy an iPhone 11 for about £700 using my Amazon account. First, she asked if I’d gotten an email from Amazon, telling me to keep refreshing my inbox. Then she checked if I got a text, and right on cue, a message popped up. Both the email and text had a code to access my Amazon account. I was advised by Amazon to just hang up and not engage. The number she called from was 07957223093.
