I just want to warn everyone about a rental scam run by a bloke called Syed Arif Ahmed. He pretends to be a genuine landlord or agent, shows you flats, takes your deposit and first month’s rent upfront, then goes silent and vanishes once he’s got your money. I’ve been caught out by him, and it looks like quite a few others have too. We’re gathering proof and asking anyone else who’s been scammed to get in touch. I’ll be posting info about the flats he’s been using and any documents we’ve found so people can spot and report him.
