7 yearsThey told me my address and name and claimed they were calling from some kind of credit check department.7 yearsGot a call from some bloke abroad saying my creditors had passed my details to them and that they were working with the government to sort out my debts. I asked him what debts he was on about (I haven't got any, mind) and he just ended the call straight away. Typical!7 yearsSomebody from a call centre claiming to be from Credit Investigation called me, spoke with an Asian accent and started rattling off a load of debts they said I had. I just told him I wasn’t fussed as I’m 96 years old and those debts will be gone when I am. He actually said sorry for calling! These idiots keep ringing from all sorts of mobile numbers, so I’ve had to block every single one.7 yearsGot a call from some bloke asking all sorts about my debts and credit, sounded fishy to me. Didn’t hang around, just blocked the number straight away. Total waste of time!7 yearsGot a call from someone named Paul who spoke with a heavy accent, claiming to be from the FCA about some unsecured debts I supposedly owed. I kept telling him I couldn’t understand what he was saying because of his poor English, and kept asking him to repeat himself. When I asked where he was calling from, he said Manchester, but I’m not convinced. Tried to speak to his supervisor and he said he was it. Asked for any info on these debts but he couldn’t provide anything. Eventually, he just hung up. Total scammer! And honestly, not even a clever one!PaulFCAManchester7 yearsGot a call from a woman with an Indian accent asking about my owed debts. When I wanted to know how they got my contact info, she mentioned something called Debt Resolution Forum and then just cut me off! I immediately blocked the number and chuck them on my t####er?? list.7 yearsCalled saying they were from the credit checking team and offered to sort out my unsecured debts. When I told them I didn’t owe anything, they actually asked if I was certain!!!! So funny lol7 yearsI've never had a debt collector ring me from a mobile phone before. Plus, I keep tabs on my credit report often and don't owe anything. If I did have unpaid debts, surely the company involved would get in touch initially, right? When I brought up GDPR to the caller, they just ended the call straight away.7 yearsThis debt company called me but as soon as I asked them how they found my phone number, they just ended the call.7 yearsSome bloke rang up saying he was from the government and that if I followed his instructions, none of my creditors would ever bother me again. He kept going on about my supposed debts but wouldn’t actually tell me what they were. Honestly, it’s getting a bit frustrating now!7 yearsThis caller really ought to improve their English if they're gonna try conning folks here in England! They kept going on about some unsecured debts, but I just kept asking them to say it again as they’ve called a few times before and I could tell it was dodgy. Eventually, I told them straight up (with a few choice words) that I wasn’t daft, and they just ended the call. Not sure who they think they’re ringing!7 yearsGot a call from a bloke claiming to be from the FCA, saying he had papers proving I owed a lot of money. He asked if it was true - his name was Kevin, apparently. I just replied, ‘you’re the one holding these documents, so you tell me’. After that, he just ended the call. Safe to say, wasn’t scared one bit! Total scam, best just to block and move on.FCA7 yearsGot a call from someone claiming to be from Credit Investigation Dept. They cheekily asked me about the amount of debt I owe. Said there’s some government scheme that could wipe out all my debts. Total scam! I tried keeping the convo going by acting amazed and asking silly questions, but in the end, he just cut me off! Guess I was too dull for him! Bit of a shame though, because now he’s probably wasted his time and will be ringing you next!Credit Investigation DepartmentGovernmentSubmit Your Own Report (07956 713480)
