Somebody called me pretending to be from PCN, thought it was a bit dodgy to be honest. They said they were with the council and that I owed a fine, but I cud tell it was fake straight away. Definitely a scam trying to scare me into paying up!

I’ve gone ahead and flagged this number to the authorities as well as Gumtree! The messages I’ve been receiving from this number have been extremely unpleasant and quite disturbing! It all began right after I set up my Gumtree account.

Had a few of those escort services showing up at my place before. Today was a bit different though - ended up giving some struggling young guy a lift back home, about 40 mins away, and covered his fare. Ringed the cops but they said there was nothing they could do since no laws were being broken. Quite a frustrating situation really.

I put up something for sale and got a message asking, "Hey, is the black prom dress still available?" I said yes, but right after, they started sending rude texts full of swear words, about five nasty messages in less than ten minutes. I’ve ignored them and won’t reply, but before I block the number, does anyone know a way to report this? When I looked up the number, it seems loads of people have had the same problem. Would be great to stop this from happening to others.

I answered the phone because they mentioned something was on offer, but then the bloke started saying rude stuff. He kept phoning me over and over, like six times or more, so I ended up blocking his number.

Seriously, what's the use? Coppers usually just tell you to wait until the person actually does something illegal before they step in. Reading through other people's comments here made me feel less freaked out, like maybe the danger wasn't as bad as that guy made it seem. It's not like I get some random stranger warning me they’ll cut my throat every day, so yeah, it shook me up a bit.
