12 yearsSo I had a call from this number earlier today, some bloke claiming to be from CAB, saying it was about the debt consolidation firm I’m dealing with. He tried to tell me that my payments hadn’t reached the creditors on time, so suddenly all my debt was due immediately, and that “Jacobs baillifs” would be dropping by in a couple of days to collect. I told him by law, they need to give you at least a week’s notice with a proper letter from creditors before showing up, which hasn’t happened because me and my missus are fully up to date with everything. I also said CAB wouldn’t be calling like that, but he just kept insisting the baillifs were coming round in two days, then straight up hung up on me (more like slammed the phone). After that, I rang the actual baillifs company, told them what happened, passed on the number, so they’re checking it out now.
