I got a message from a girl on a dating app who wanted to chat on WhatsApp. She said she liked me but insisted I had to go through this Jumio verification thing for safety reasons. First, the system wouldn’t accept my private email, only corporate ones, which was odd. Later that evening, she messaged again with a different link that worked right away. I used a credit card with a small limit, and then saw a sudden charge of $60, about 300 Reais, which felt way too much just for verification. Thankfully, my bank blocked the payment. That’s the number linked to her - definitely looks like a scammer to me.
