Got a call from someone pretending to be with the windows security team. They told me my computer had problems. The minute i mentioned that i use an apple, they just cut me off.

Not sure who that was, I just let it ring out. Been getting loads of calls like this lately and they're getting a bit much.

Today I got a call from a man with a foreign accent claiming he was part of some government programme meant to shield my phone number. He mentioned how we keep getting pestered by telemarketers and cold callers. I told him right away that he was doing exactly what he was complaining about, then nicely told him to save my number by hanging up and not calling again. Definitely sounded like a scam trying to make people pay to dodge annoying calls.

I picked up and said hello, the other side replied with hello back but then just went silent for like 20 seconds while I kept saying hello and waiting to see if they’d say anything else. After a bit, I just gave up and ended the call. Weird.

Got a cold call from someone claiming to be the TPS, saying they’d help stop nuisance calls - funny coming from them! I just told them they themselves were a nuisance and hung up.
