Got a call on my landline this morning, which is ex-directory, with a message saying 'what about his daft wife'. They rang back straight away with another message mentioning Bercow. No one has my landline number apart from me, but the really weird part is I got the exact same texts on my mobile just seconds after the landline calls, and the two numbers aren’t connected at all. Surely EE should be able to sort this out as the number involved is definitely from their network.

Got a call this morning on my landline which isn’t listed anywhere, followed by a message saying ‘what about his silly wife’. Then they rang back straight away with another text about Bercow. Total scam, and I’m fed up with all these random numbers constantly ringing. How do they even get my number? It’s ex-directory with BT. 07953966066. Got a call at about half past two in the morning, some automated voice saying Milly had taken her own life. I barely got any rest after that, fretting over a 15-year-old Milly I know. Her mum passed away from a brain bleed at just 45, leaving six kids behind. Milly was only seven back then and really struggles with missing her mum and her depression. I'm 68, with heart issues and arthritis. Why are there so many twisted people out there? Honestly, I just want to know who gets their kicks from upsetting others like this.

He had no clue he’d sent a text to our home phone! So like others have said, it’s not a scam, just super annoying. I even joked with him that I was about to report him for harassment!

Got a voicemail on my home phone from this number, saying they received a “help” text from some other mobile and want me to ring them back. Seems a bit fishy to me.

Turns out my mum accidentally sent a text to my home phone instead of my mobile. After that, I noticed this number pop up two times on my landline screen.

Got a call from this number a couple times within just five minutes, saying there was an emergency text message for me and telling me to ring some unfamiliar number. Didn't seem right, so I just went ahead and blocked them.

So I discovered this isn’t a scam at all. Apparently, someone sent a text to a landline and it just reads the message out loud. My brother accidentally texted my home phone instead of my cellphone. I just wish the message was spoken a bit slower so it's easier to understand what’s being said.

AUTHENTIC. Looks like a text message system that ‘reads out’ texts accidentally sent to a landline. The voice sounds really unclear, so it gives it another go.
