Calls also include warnings about fake charges or suspicious activity, aiming to instil fear and prompt rash actions. Many recipients report silence, hang-ups, or disconnections once answered. Adherence to the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) does not prevent these unsolicited calls.

Got a voicemail claiming it’s from BT saying my internet and phone would get cut off. It told me to press 1 or 2 to chat with a BT rep. Bit suspicious if you ask me!

Got a call this afternoon to my poor mum from some bloke claiming there was a problem with her Microsoft computer. Mum was confused and asked him to explain, but instead of helping, he got really rude and started shouting at her. Wish I was nearby to sort it out. I’m definitely going to report this to the police because his language and threats were completely out of order.

Got a message on my phone, sounded like a robot, saying there’s been a charge for Amazon Prime £99 taken from my bank. The thing is, I’ve never even signed up for Prime! Total confusion.

Answering the call, after the recorded message, all I got was silence and then it felt like they just hung up. We’ve registered with TPS so I reckon this might be some sort of scam.

When my voicemail kicked in, the person on the other end just ended the call. This number called me for the first time, but earlier today, I got another ring from a very similar one that’s also linked to EE.

Got a call on my home phone again today, second time now! The caller just stayed quiet and then dropped the call after a bit. I rang back out of curiosity, it only rang a short while before going straight to an EE voicemail. I didn’t leave a message and have now blocked the caller.

Had two calls today from two different numbers claiming I was owed a £149 refund for household appliances. Just like the first time, I kept her chatting for a bit to waste her time. When she finally asked for my bank info, I told her to buzz off to the same place I told the other caller earlier - can’t say it here! Could hear her getting annoyed as I hung up quick. Sending the latest number to 7726 to hopefully get it blocked.

What a total time drain this was, honestly. Feels like they deserve a proper kick where it hurts. Could be useful for a bit of fun, a quick blow job or something. Definitely a scammer though.

Got a call from this number today, they claimed I was eligible for a £149 refund related to some kitchen appliance deal. A lady with an accent I couldn’t quite place spoke initially, and once she figured I might be gullible, she handed me over to some manager. Somehow, this bloke already knew my name and which bank I use. He said he couldn’t request any bank details on the phone but kept pushing for me to give out the digits on my card. Total scam, watch out.

Got a call from someone saying she was Mary Watson, but couldn’t even say her own name right. When I told her I knew it was a scam, she just went mental and started banging on about my late mum (who only had me as a kid) in a really nasty way. Total rubbish, definitely a scammer.
