I got a call from this number yesterday while I was at work. I called back but no one picked up - just some recorded message saying they'd ring me back later. Just now, they called again and it was an automated voice saying HMRC was suing me and I had to press a button to deal with it. It caught me off guard at first, but then I knew it was a scam so I looked it up here! I’m usually quite savvy, but I worry about older folks or people who might not be as sharp - this could be really harmful. These scammers should be put to an end!!

Got a call from a robotic woman’s voice asking if I owed more than £6,000 in debts or something like that.

Same here, loads of automated calls about debt consolidation popping up all the time. I've already blocked around 40 numbers cause they keep coming from new ones each day. Those fake "You're gonna be arrested" calls seem to have chilled out for now though. Such a pain. Best thing is to just end the call and block the number, but it doesn't really seem to make much difference.
