This happened to me too! I managed to find who they were through some dodgy websites.

This guy rang up without saying who he was or the company he represented. He wanted to speak to the person in charge of our website, but when I explained we were happy using Yell and weren’t interested in switching, he got quite rude. He then started insisting, asking why we weren’t interested. After I said no again, he raised his voice and talked over me, claiming he could offer a better deal right now. I told him no once more, then ended the call while he was still practically shouting and promptly blocked his number.

Got a call from some guy named Will, said he was ringing about our website. Told him I wasn’t interested, but he kept pushing and asked if I was the right person to say that - like mate, it’s my business, I decide! He just wouldn’t take ‘no’ for an answer. Then he got all annoyed and slammed the phone down. Proper irritating cold call, seemed like a scam to me. Blocked the number straight away.

Some geezer rang up asking for the owner, claimed it was about our website even though he wasn’t from the company that does ours. I told him we were quite happy with what we’ve got and didn’t want to switch. Suddenly, he got really angry, started shouting if I had permission to talk to him (I run the business so obviously I do), asked if I was the one who pays the bills (again, yes), and kept insisting on speaking to a manager. I told him straight up not to call us again, then I cut him off and blocked his number.

Got a call from a number I didn’t recognise but didn’t bother to leave a voicemail or even a text after calling once. Probably a spammer, especially since there’s like 26 reports on this site, so it seems less likely to be a simple wrong number.
