Got a call from a woman asking for Jane. When I said it was the wrong number, she quickly said sorry and promised to take my number off their list. Sounds like one of those fishing scams.

It’s really not a good idea to ring back an unfamiliar number. It might be one of those wangiri scams, or perhaps a genuine person’s phone number that scammers have faked using some clever computer tricks. Loads of folks don’t get how these scams operate, which makes them easy prey for con artists.

I got a call from this number but it dropped straight to my voicemail with no message left. When I tried ringing it back, it just went to voicemail again, but then the message said the mailbox was full, so I couldn’t find out who it was.
