I encountered a young chap, but frankly, I've no clue who he was or what he was after.

I got a call from this number on my phone, claiming to be from HSBC. They said there was a payment attempt from a new device and if I didn’t make it, I should check the secure payments page. Sounded dodgy to me, so I just blocked them. Definitely seemed like a scam to grab my card info.

Got a text supposedy from Lloyds Bank saying I'd linked a device to my account. It told me to click a link if it wasn’t me. I just deleted it straight away!

Got a call but as soon as I answered they just cut off. Bit strange really.

Got called three times this morning, finally picked up and just said hello. At first, nothing but dead silence, but then I caught the noise of a busy call centre before they abruptly cut off. Definitely some sort of scam going on!

Got a call from an Asian woman wanting to talk to my dad, who’s actually been gone for more than a decade. When I asked where she found our number since we're unlisted, she just hung up on me.

I got a call from someone claiming to be with a life insurance firm, and she immediately started asking me a bunch of questions. I didn’t respond and just mentioned how surprised I was to get such a call since my number is on the no cold call list. That seemed to throw her off a bit. Then I ended the call.
