Got a text claiming to be from HSBC about some device I don’t recognise, but I’ve never even had an account with them. Definitely sounds fishy to me.

Totally a scam for sure. I got two texts in a month saying they were from HSBC about a new payee being added to my account from a device I didn’t know. Thing is, I don’t even have an account with HSBC. I rang up HSBC myself and they told me straight away it wasn’t them and it’s a phishing attempt.

Got a text supposedly from HSBC about a new payee being set up. It had a link to either approve or cancel it. I checked my account and there’s no such request, so I reckon it’s a scam.
