I called back this dodgy number after they pretended to be from my internet provider, but it turns out they were actually an EE customer, and my ISP has nothing to do with EE. I’ve already reported them to EE and Action Fraud, fingers crossed they’ll shut the number down soon. Definitely seems like a scammer trying to trick people.

Got a call about a refund from some scammer bright and early, around 8am this morning.

I got a call saying my BT phone line was going to be cut off soon. Didn't sound right at all, and when I tried to chat to the bloke on the other end, his accent was so muddled I could barely get what he was saying. Felt off, so I just hung up. Tried calling the same number back but it kept saying their voicemail was full and wouldn't let me leave a message. Rang BT themselves and they said they never called me. Definitely a dodgy one.

It was a robot voice, female, talking with an American accent saying something about two payments made, but didn’t give any actual info about the account, payee or card provider - just amounts. Then it asked me to press 1 to confirm or 2 to chat with a Visa security rep. Pretty clear it was a scam attempt.

I got another call today from someone claiming to be Midge Ure who kept yelling "I sold more records than you!" The number showed as +447944989175, which is an EE mobile line. It was not just annoying but felt genuinely crazy and offensive. Honestly, whoever it was seemed seriously unhinged - like they should be locked up somewhere or at least getting proper mental help. Proper ridiculous stuff, really.

Had a call from one of those dodgy 'Amazon Prime' scammers, you know, the ones with that robotic message telling you to press 1 if something’s wrong. I just asked which account they were on about and they went silent, probably realised I wasn’t falling for it. These scams have been around forever now, you'd think they’d be a bit better at it but nah, still pretty rubbish.

Some bloke called, said he was Ben Rogers from Microsoft, telling me my laptop was compromised. When I told him I'm on the telephone preference service list, he kept saying it was totally legit and not an illegal call. Bit dodgy if you ask me.

Got a call the other day from a woman with an accent claiming I was due a refund on some household gadget. Pretty clear it was a scam, so I just kept her chatting for a bit to waste her time. She started asking for my bank info to supposedly double-check for the refund, which is when I told her exactly what I thought of her, but I won’t repeat that here!
