I managed to keep him on the line for about 20 minutes before telling him I'm 86 and don't own a computer, mobile, microwave, air fryer, coffee maker, toaster, or DVD player, just an old black & white telly. They're still using my phone number. You can report these scammers to Ofcom by sending 'call' to 7726. You’ll get a message back asking for the number the spam calls are coming from. Fingers crossed they sort it out with your network and block them.

Some bloke called my home phone, no clue how he got my digits. Said “hello madam, I’m from Microsoft” at like 8:25 in the morning. Proper fed up with these scammers, seriously something should be done about it.

Got another call today claiming to be from Virgin Media. Didn’t say anything to them.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Amazon Prime, but I don't even have an account with them. He started talking about refunding £95 they supposedly took. I threw a bunch of questions at him, then hung up as soon as I said I don’t have Amazon. Shame, I was hoping to drag the convo out and waste his time a bit more.

Turns out my computer got hacked, of all things. Thankfully, these guys were really sharp and ready to assist me with the problem, and it was only going to be £150. Quite a deal! Trouble is, I kinda dropped the phone on him before he could fix it. Fingers crossed he rings me again…

Got a call from a bloke with an Indian/Asian accent saying there's an issue with my internet, but he never said what company he was from. Hung up and blocked straight away. Total scam.

I received a call from someone claiming to be from Visa. They mentioned the need to verify a payment transaction and instructed me to press the number 1 right away.

26 Nov 2023. Got a call from a woman speaking with an Indian accent, said she was from Microsoft. I questioned her and she just started arguing and talking right over me. Clearly no idea about customer service, just part of her scam act. When I mentioned the call was being recorded, she hung up straight away.

The moment I hear a strange accent along with bad sound quality, I can tell it's a scam. They said they were from BT’s Tech support. I just ended the call and blocked the number.
