some bloke called up saying that my wife’s ni number was getting used by someone else and he needed to verify it. but if he already knew it was being used, why bother asking for confirmation? smelled like a scam right from the start. she hung up quick, so no idea what else he was trying to push. absolute muppets, these scammers!

Got a text saying I was due a tax refund from HMRC. When I looked it up on the official HMRC site, it told me to report that message to another number. Apparently, HMRC said they never send texts about tax rebates. Definitely feels dodgy!
