He also wanted me to send cash to a woman called Sammi who supposedly lives in Australia. We’d messaged on the app but he always claimed his camera was faulty, so no video calls. After about three weeks, he went on about how much he loved me, and since I was a bit lonely, I kinda enjoyed the attention. Then last week he phoned, saying he wanted to apply for leave so we could finally meet. He emailed me some form to fill out as part of the application, which looked pretty legit with American army logos and all. A few days later I got a letter confirming the leave was approved, but asked me to send £1,800 to some woman’s account in Australia?
